Texas Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø history students get a lesson in Tudor Theatre

09.16.2021 | By:

On the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 14, lines from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream could be heard echoing across the Kay Granger Mall as a group of Texas Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø players performed a scene from next month’s Theatre Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø production of the comedy.

The scene was performed for students in a Tudor-Stuart History class who were examining the Elizabethan and Jacobean culture of seventeenth-century England. After the performance, theatre professor Dr. Connie Whitt-Lambert spoke to the students about the evolution of religious plays and theatre in Tudor England and answered student questions.
